Byron Godfrey is currently the owner of Misfit Strength and Conditioning in Houston, Texas and the Wellness Center Director for Memorial Clinical Associates. Byron is a world recognized expert in the areas of Sport Specific Strength & Conditioning and athletic rehabilitation.

Born and raised in Houston, he is the son of a retired firefighter and administrative assistant. From them, he learned the importance of physical strength, hard work, and dedication. He is a devoted husband and father of four. He is also a graduate of Rice University, where he majored in political science and sociology and was a stand out running back and tight end on the Division 1 football team.

During his fifth year of college, he interned with the strength and conditioning department where he assisted with programming for the football, swimming, and tennis teams. This was the beginning of a passion for strength and conditioning.

After college, this hunger continued as a high school teacher and football coach. During this time, he designed the strength and conditioning programs for all school sports one of the largest districts in Houston.

Byron left the education sector after six years to pursue a career in fitness and personal training. Throughout his career, Byron has continued his pursuit of knowledge to improve himself as a person and a coach/trainer. Over the last 15 years, he has been fortunate to train everyone from senior citizens and youth, to world championship professional and high school athletes including all world NFL player Adrian Peterson and one of the greatest clutch NBA players of all time Robert Horry.
